The Answer to Crack Cocaine Addiction

As covered in other articles, crack addiction can be one of the most deadly of addiction. Crack is dissimilar to other drugs in that the damage it does is immediate and despite the horrific coming-down or “crash” immediately after taking the drug, the users strongly craves more of the drug. Whereas one might drink too much, too suddenly and spend an evening throwing up and being sick, effectively "learning one's lesson" not to over-drink, crack does not have that same effect.

When one does crack there is an immediate gratification of an intense high, effectively leaving the person's problem or difficulty behind. However, within minutes the person will experience an equally intense depression and extreme edginess or anxiety after taking crack. The next response is getting "more crack". The cravings for the drug are extremely intense. The person seeks more of the drug. These cravings worsen as the addiction grows and their body’s physical condition deteriorates.

Given the intense ups and downs of crack use, it is vital that when one notices the signs of crack cocaine addiction to contact intake counselor at an effective long-term rehabilitation center. Crack addiction does not respond well to shorter 28-day rehab programs.

Narconon's Role in Overcoming Addiction

Narconon originally started in rehabilitating heroin drug addicts. The program was so successful it immediately gained the attention among officials and news media. What was unique about this program was that it worked uniformly on all addictions. The common denominators of the physical and mental addiction were being treated and the addicts not only completed the program but the majority (75%) stayed off drugs thereafter. As Narconon gained popularity, more and more addicts appeared with different addictions to overcome. Crack was one addition that was in dire need of a successful means of overcoming. Crack addiction produces such a physical impact on the user it is vital the user get help as rapidly as possible. Narconon began helping crack addicts overcome their addiction and Narconon Cocaine Rehabilitation Centers became very successful in overcoming crack and cocaine addiction. The addicts reported that not only were they able to come off crack using the Narconon Drug-free Withdrawal, but remained off crack with little or no cravings, once they completed the Narconon Sauna Detoxification Program. The sauna program is known to reduce the toxic burden of the body which greatly reduces the chances for cravings that can be caused by physical toxic residues. As the students continued through the Narconon Life Skills courses they were able to find and handle the very reasons they started using drugs and found they didn’t need to turn to drugs to ever solve a problem again.

How Narconon Addresses Crack Cocaine Addiction

Narconon is a non-profit State licensed drug rehabilitation program. Narconon is registered with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. Narconon has been recognized for years as being an effective method of drug rehabilitation with a success rate four times that of the international average.

When one enters a Narconon the person is first given a complete medical examination by a licensed medical doctor. The doctor makes any recommendations necessary to ensure the person can begin the Narconon program. Any health concerns are addressed, including any mal-nutrition and any recommended additional supplements, medicines or nutritional elements necessary to rebuild the person physically are given based on medical advices.

The next step, once the person has medical ok, is to enter the withdrawal program of Narconon. Narconon does a drug-free withdrawal. Withdrawal symptoms are due in a large degree from nutritional deficiencies and these are addressed.

The person is given a precise regimen of nutritional supplements that assist in withdrawal. There are also special physical techniques that are done at Narconon that alleviate withdrawal symptoms and have proven effective in doing so with countless numbers of cases, many of whom go through withdrawal without even noticing any withdrawal symptoms at all! This is always amazing to the addict when they see that they aren’t suffering and are not taking drugs. Most addicts think they will suffer when they try to quit. This is true if one tries to withdraw without the Narconon program. Trying to withdraw “cold turkey” on one’s own is vastly different than a Narconon withdrawal. At Narconon, the recovering addict is given around the clock attention and the special physical techniques and nutrition given make a drug-free withdrawal with minimum discomfort possible.

Narconon Staff

Narconon staff are unique rehab professionals. Each one has been highly trained, not only in drug rehab but also as a specialist for the job they do. Many of the Narconon staff are themselves graduates of the program and so fully understand all the facets of drug addiction and have a personal reality on what an addict goes through. This helps the person coming into Narconon for cocaine addiction to feel like he or she is understood. The staff themselves, knowing drug addiction inside and out, know, often before the person does, what they will be experiencing and as such can better assist them to overcome any discomfort or personal difficulty. The care factor among Narconon staff is quite high. Narconon is a non-profit organization and as such is not a for-profit-motivated organization, but a purpose-motivated organization. Staff with the calling to work in Narconon, have a high purpose in helping others to free themselves from addiction.
