Reasons For Stimulant Addiction

Narconon Pills

Stimulant addiction can be the addiction to drugs such as methamphetamine, cocaine, Ritalin, Adderall, and a host of other drugs names and combinations. Regardless of the stimulant or the drug one is addicted to there are certain common events that lead one to addiction.

A person begins taking a stimulant or other drug as a solution to some personal problem. The problem could be not being able to fit in with the "cool crowd" or needing to study all night to make the grade on a test, or boredom or any unsatisfactory emotion or situation one finds oneself in. As friends, entertainment media and direct advertising are all suggesting that taking a drug will cure one's dilemma, it is easy to see why someone may try a drug for the first time.

An Example of Addiction

By way of example, a guy doesn't feel he fits in at school, he is made fun of. Somehow he gets invited to a party. At the party someone offers him an alcoholic drink or a drug, given the peer pressure of wanting to fit in, he takes it. The drug does seem to have the effect of putting his troubles and fears aside. This makes the drug valuable. He now begins to use the drug as a solution whenever those same problems confront him again. The drug doesn't solve the problem; it just buries them or pushes them off. When the drugs wear off, the problem comes back much stronger than before. The usual answer to this is to take more drugs. However, this may be, the person could still be brought to his senses and made to give up drugs if that was the only reason for his drug use. But there is an unseen and unsuspected aspect

How Drugs Affect the Body

When one takes a drug, any drug, the body immediately identifies it as a poison. The body uses up a tremendous amount of nutrition, vitamins and minerals to try and handle this poison invading the body. The body's response is to try to save itself from this poison and the kidneys and liver immediately go to work filtering the drug so as to minimize damage. During this process the drug is broken down. A by-product of this process is created called a "metabolite". This is a residue of the drug, a small chemical reminder. These drug metabolites easily bond with or dissolve in fats.

What this means for our student, is the drugs he's taken leave residues or chemical reminders deposited in the fat tissue of the body. Although some are excreted through, breath, sweat and urine, the metabolites deposited in the body and stored in fat can remain there for months or even years.

This student now not only has the additional problem of peer pressure, but has depleted his nutritional reserves causing further stress and feelings of anxiety and fear simply by the nutritional deficiencies alone. However, it gets worse. As he has traces of the drug imbedded in the fat in his body, any time he gets mad, excited, is stressed out, has sex or exercises the heart rate of course increases and fat reserves are burned up. This releases these metabolites back into the body. People have even been known to experience full-blown LSD or drug trips when this occurs. The common term is called a "flashback", but the technical reason for it is as detailed here. A portion of the drug that was lodged in the body is released into the blood and the person gets cravings for the drug again or feel as if he were on the drug again.

As the student's answer to his problem has always been "more drugs" he usually seeks out more drugs and is now stuck in a dwindling spiral, getting worse off physically, mentally and emotionally by drug use alone. The answer is not more drugs.

The Solution to Addiction

The real solution to addiction lies in reversing the above factors and giving the student workable solutions to the problems he faced that led to addiction. The first step to reverse the spiral of addiction is to choose a drug rehab program that not only understands addiction, but has a workable solution to it. The Narconon drug rehab program has a success rate four times that of the international average. The reason for this is a solid understanding of the factors above and many more that create addiction.

Narconon Student

The Narconon program first handles the person nutritionally to allow the body to repair itself from the devastation of drug use. Following this are a series of drills that increase the person's ability to confront other people, communication and life itself.

A key step is the New Life Detoxification program which is the true answer to drug cravings. This unique program safely flushes those stored drug metabolites from the student's body. He will notice the difference, feel a considerable sense of relief when they are gone, and have clearer thinking and no longer be troubled by physical drug cravings.

The remainder of the Narconon program addresses individual factors that each played a part in his becoming addicted. These are the life skills courses and each addresses a specific aspect of becoming addicted. Subjects are covered such as how to study, the causes of ups and downs in life, ethics and integrity, workable moral precepts based on common sense and so on.

Narconon addresses addiction in all its facets and as such has a much greater success rate. Reversion is not a part of recovery from drug addiction. When a student fully does each step of the Narconon program he remains drug free.
