Narconon is a non-profit drug rehabilitation program dedicated to eliminating drug abuse and drug addiction through drug prevention, education and rehabilitation.
The Narconon drug rehabilitation program results in drug-free lives, with the majority of our graduates going on to live stable, ethical, productive, drug-free lives. These Narconon graduates, whether drug-free for ten, twenty or even 40 years, demonstrate the success and results of Narconon program.
Narconon staff also work hard to eliminate drug abuse before it starts. Narconon drug prevention and education centers educate hundreds of thousands of people each year with live presentations and bring the truth to millions more through video presentations and written materials, thus reducing and eliminating drug addiction and abuse.
Drug Rehab Programs
The program steps are entirely drug-free; that is, the Narconon drug rehabilitation program does not use drugs or medications to solve the problems caused by drugs, but does use nutrition and nutritional supplements as an important component of its delivery. Thus the program is neither a psychiatric nor medical, but a social education model of rehabilitation.
Persons enrolling in the program must receive full medical physicals, an M.D.’s permission to do the program and periodic medical review as individually needed. However, Narconon clients are not considered or treated as “patients” but as “students” who are learning to regain control of their lives. This is an important distinction. A Narconon student does not enroll to recover from an “illness”; he enrolls to learn something that he doesn’t already know. He addresses the disability caused by drug use with new abilities, new skills for life.
The Narconon drug rehabilitation program is an entirely drug-free social education program. The key to the success of the Narconon program is the Drug Rehabilitation methods developed by author and humanitarian, L. Ron Hubbard. This methodology has been used successfully by hundreds of thousands of people around the world to rid themselves of the need for drugs and to regain control of their lives.
Drug Education and Prevention
Narconon staff have educated over 3.5 million school children through the Narconon drug education and training programs. Our program has demonstrated effectiveness in keeping kids off drugs.
Narconon centers and groups conduct numerous drug prevention activities around the world on a weekly basis. Training programs in communication and other life skills are conducted with high risk youth. Peer Leader training provides high school students with the skills needed to help counsel their peers and prevent them from using drugs.
Outcome studies show that early drug prevention must give young children the truth, the vital information and tools they need to make their own choice to keep away from drugs. Our track record over the past two decades is impressive with key results being reported.
